On Monday evenings we have our THIRST! Bible studies. Our hope at The Village is that every committed follower of Jesus Christ would have a thirst for knowing Jesus and His Word more deeply. To that end we have a Bible study for men and women on Monday evenings. They meet on a rotating basis (women one week and men the next) to study God's Word and pray together. Our hope is that through THIRST! we would become more devoted followers of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ.
The men's group meets at Zack Ruder's home (right next to the church) and the women's group meets at Chelsea Boggs's home (400 E Deshler Ave)...both groups meet from 8:00-9:30 p.m..
Here's what the men and women are currently studying:
Men - The men are currently studying to Book of Ecclesiastes.
Women - The women are working through Priscilla Shirer's Gideon Bible study. This study focuses on the person of Gideon and what his story in the Bible teaches us about life and faith in God.
A few times a year we offer our Village Fundamental class. This class that meets over two Saturdays offers an overview of the Village Church's theology, practices, and mission. Our Village Fundamentals class also talks about the importance of membership at The Village Church and what is involved in becoming a covenant member.
At The Village we say that we have "Three Rhythms" that direct our practices as a church: Gospel, Life, and Mission. Gospel has to do with our relationship with God, what we believe about God, how we believe He is at work in our world, and how we cultivate a healthy and mature relationship with Him. Life has to do with our relationship with one another in the church, what we desire community to look like, and what our practices are to achieve healthy, Gospel-centered community. Mission has to do with our relationship to the world, how we are called to serve our neighbors, our city, and people all around the world, and what we, at The Village, are doing to serve in these different ways.
We would invite you to join us at our next round of Village Fundamentals classes if you'd like to learn more about who we are, what we believe, and what we are to further the Gospel in our city and around the globe. If you are interested in membership at The Village then our Village Fundamentals is where you'd begin (though you aren't required to become a member if you go through the classes).
Our next Village Fundamentals classes will be held on Saturday, April 26th and Saturday, May 10th from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m..
Prayer @ 9
Every other Saturday we gather as a community for a time of prayer. Prayer is extremely important to us at The Village because we not only believe that God has called and invited us to pray to Him, but we believe He has promised to work through the prayers of His people. Because of this we desire to come together regularly to pray for one another, our church, our neighborhood, city, and world. We want to praise God for all that He's doing and pray that He will continue to do more and more. Please join us for this important time and bring your joys and struggles before the throne of God.
We gather at 9:00 a.m., every other Saturday, at the church.
You can check our events page for upcoming dates for Prayer @ 9.
