Zack Ruder - Lead Pastor

Zack has worked in church ministry for the past 14 years working with children, students, and adults in various roles.  Zack's heart is to see the Gospel take root in people's hearts and to see Jesus become their greatest joy.  Zack is married to his beautiful wife of almost eleven years, Megan, who is his constant support, encourager, and friend.  Together they have an almost five-year-old daughter Abby, seven-month-old son Titus, and a black lab, Zeke.  Zack graduated from Geneva College with a B.A. in Biblical Studies & Philosophy and a M.A. in Education.  He received his Masters of Divinity at Western Theological Seminary.  Zack loves to teach, read, golf, watch sports and movies, and spend time with his family.

As the Lead Pastor at The Village Zack longs to see the church be a catalyst, used by The Holy Spirit, in bringing Gospel-transformation to the German Village neighborhoods and the city of Columbus. Zack loves the strong and diverse community of men, women, and children that God has assembled so far at The Village, and desires that they would continue to mature in their love and knowledge of Jesus so that they can love God, their families, one another, and communities more powerfully.

Chris Boggs - Elder

Chris is one of the lay elders at the Village and is a native of Columbus, growing up in both the Linden and Clintonville neighborhoods and now living in Merion Village. He was brought up in the church at Bethel Presbyterian Church before becoming one of the founding members of the Village Community Church.

He, as with the rest of the elders and staff, shares a common goal and passion to see the truth of the Gospel preached in German Village and surrounding neighborhoods. He leads one of the Missional Communities and finds great joy in helping those who attend to mature in their faith, mission and love for God. His constant prayer is that God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ remains at the core of what goes on at the Village and that he and the leadership remain faithful to God’s call for them to uphold that prayer.

Chris has been married to his beautiful wife Chelsea since 2004, and together they have three kids: Colton, Wyatt and Grace. He is co-owner of Dive Creative, a user interface design consultancy in Grandview.

Tim Boggs - Elder

Tim grew up in Columbus and has been living in the church neighborhood since 2007. He has a passion to see his community come to faith in Christ and is excited to have the privilege of participating in what God is doing in central Ohio.

Michael Carlisle - Deacon, Director of Community Outreach

Michael, a native of Cleveland, joined the church in the summer of 2012 as an intern. During his three months in Columbus he had an integral role in The Village Community Church's first VBS. In addition, he made a strong connection to VCC's community, in and out of the church. After graduating in 2013 with a B.A. in Pastoral Studies from Greenville College, Michael felt a strong call to take the gospel to the city. In June of that year he returned to the Village Community Church to do just that. As the Community Outreach Director his longing is to see different people from different walks of life come together to proclaim Christ as Lord. As a means to fulfill his longing, he serves the church's families, children from Barrack Community Center, and is a part-time soccer coach.

Michael is also a Deacon at The Village Church and serves our church family by regularly providing support, encouragement and care.

Michael is newly married to the love of his life, Jamie, and they recently moved into a home on the South side of Columbus.
