Children & Worship

Our desire at The Village is that families would worship together. To that end, children of all ages are welcome and encouraged to be in worship with their families. We also understand that, at times, parents will need to leave with their children or choose to have their children out of the service for a time. To help with these times The Village Church has spaces for children from infants - 1st grade.  We have a nursery space for infants - age 2, a free-play space for children age 3 - pre-K and then a classroom setting for K - 1st grade children. If you would choose to use any these spaces, children will always return to worship with their families and the congregation after the sermon.

Village Kids Discipleship

We believe that children should be discipled as well, so we place each covenant member child (2nd grade & older) into a one-on-one discipleship relationship with an older man or woman in the church. The purpose of these relationships is to help children take hold of the truths of the Christian faith from a young age, learn how to read the Bible, ask questions and grow in their love for Jesus. These also become great opportunities to develop deep and last relationships with an older man or woman of the faith.

Catechism & Sunday School

Each Sunday we offer a Village Kids Catechism class as well as an Interactive Bible Stories class during our Sunday School hour for children. These classes happen each week from 9:30-10:15 a.m. at the church.

Our catechism class walks our children through the Westminster Shorter Catechism in a setting and with language that is geared for kids. Each week they learn and discuss a new question from the catechism, explore the Biblical texts that support the catechism question and discuss how that question applies to their lives. This class is for children who are able to read and are ready to begin learning and exploring Scripture on a deeper level.

The interactive Bible stories class walks through different stories from Scripture each week and helps children learn the scope of God’s redemptive history through stories of Scripture from Genesis - Revelation. Our teachers bring these stories to life and help children understand more fully God’s work in the midst of His Creation-Fall-Redemption-Restoration plan.
