Romans 1:8-15

Romans 1:8-15 presents us with Paul’s standard opening thanksgiving and affirmation to his letter’s recipient. This was also standard in ancient letters, yet once again Paul’s thanksgiving here is much longer. Here we see Paul’s pastoral heart for the Roman church poured out before. Paul’s heart also works to set the agenda for his upcoming thesis statement.
